The high school marching band woke me up this morning
actually they wake me up every morning during this season
it's like they're right outside of my window
yea those Drums are giving me my own personal show
and I just lay there pretending like I don't hear them
they start to play louder...I don't move
faster rhythms to express their skill...nope not moving
as seconds turn to minutes, 10, 20, 30 OK I'm up
now the brass section has joined in
alright they sound kinda good
think I recognize this song...maybe not
about to lay back down for 10 more minutes
until the woodwinds take the field
ahhh the Clarinets, Saxophones and Flutes
carrying that smooth melody right on in
to the George Benson version of "On Broadway"
I knew I recognized that song...I'm really up now
